I cannot find any info on where I can go back country camping in Utah in the winter. I am big camping guy and would like to go snow caving in the back country and don’t know anywhere to go. I live in Salt Lake City so I am kind of looking for something close within and two hour drive. any ideas?

We want to go camping near a lake, start a fire, let our dog out, and get drunk in peace. We are from Colorado and are starting to feel we asking too much. Please help.

It’s hard to find those areas here, instead there’s just a bunch of campgrounds. I don’t know if this will help, but try this link. It has some National Forest areas with dispersed camping.

I live in Dallas,Texas and me and a few friends plan to go camping tomorrow but we’re not really sure where we should go. Where would be a good camp ground that is about a few hours away?

Davy Crockett National Forest, Sabine National Forest, Angelina National Forest and Sam Houstion National Forest. Lots of good state parks and camp grounds too.
But right now, I dont think there is anywhere in the state that will allow a camp fire due to the fire bans all over the state.
